How to measure
Two ways to find your size: measure yourself, or measure a t-shirt you already love.
Option 1 — Measure a shirt you already wear
This is the most reliable method. Find a t-shirt or shirt that fits you the way you want our piece to fit, lay it flat, and measure.
- Chest width: Lay the shirt flat, measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other. Compare directly to the chest width column above.
- Length: From the highest point of the shoulder seam down to the bottom hem.
- Shoulder to shoulder: From the top of one shoulder seam across the back to the top of the other.
- Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam to the cuff.
Option 2 — Measure your body
- Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits, keeping it level across the back. Don't pull tight.
- Shoulders: Measure straight across the back, from the bony point of one shoulder to the other.
- Then add ease: Made for the Kitchens is a loose fit — add 8–12cm to your body chest measurement to land in your usual size. Day Off is an oversized fit — if you prefer it less roomy, size down from your usual.
A note on the numbers: All measurements are in centimetres, taken from the garment laid flat. Because everything is made from natural fibres, expect 1–2cm of variation between pieces — that's the fabric, not a fault.
Between sizes?
Made for the Kitchens — chef shirts & chef t-shirts
A loose fit by design. Order your usual size for the intended cut, or size down if you prefer a closer, sharper line on the pass.
Day Off t-shirts
An oversized fit by design. Stef sizes down from his usual for a more regular fit. Order your usual size if you want it relaxed and roomy.
Will it shrink?
Organic cotton can shrink 2–3% on the first wash if you tumble dry hot. Cold wash, hang dry, and the numbers above stay accurate for years. Full instructions on the Care Guide.
